Job Description:* All positions require direct, hands on experience with developing and implementing VA VistA software in M/Cache and VA FileMan. All candidates must possess or have the ability to:
- Meet deadlines and project goals - Prioritize responsibilities and work independently - Proven ability to develop and document System, Software Design based on Requirements - Ability to produce the test procedures using Standard MS Office Tools. - Ability to work effectively as a member of a large integrated virtual team - Develop/Implement technical solutions from business requirements - Work across departments within the VA organization to clarify requirements and meet stakeholder needs - Adhere to VA Software Development Lifecycle requirements and processes - Evaluate and understand VA Vista Architecture and VistA Revenue Cycle and develop technical solutions in legacy MUMPS and FileMan
The candidate will design, code, test, unit test, integrate and document enhancements to complex VistA Accounts Receivable/Claims processing system. Candidate must be proficient in VA Fileman, legacy MUMPS code base. Specific experience with VistA AR, IB, Fee, and other financial packages and/or experience/knowledge of HIPAA EDI transactions X12 270/271, 837/835, NCPDP are preferred
Required Skills:* 10+ years of experience in a healthcare setting developing software - 10+ utilizing M/Cache - 5+ years of experience working with VA Fileman - 3+ years of EDI Transaction implementation experience (HL7, X12, NCPDP) - Experience working with OpenVMS operating system and DCL scripts is a plus - Experience in interface development with ICD-9 and knowledge of ICD-10 codes is a plus
Preferred Skills:* Preferred Skills and Experience: - Working knowledge of VA VistA financial packages - Working knowledge of HL7 & EDI X12 transaction data sets for types: 837, 835, 270/271, and 276/277 - Working knowledge of NCPDP pharmacy transactions
Education/Certifications:* May require a bachelors degree in a related area and at least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
