Employee Benefits Specialist - Keene, NH - 1479
The Employee Benefits Specialist will be responsible to facilitate daily administration of health and welfare (medical/dental/vision/FSA/HIPAA) and wellness plans/policies. You will also assist in the design and delivery of training forums for existing and new HR Reps relative to H&W benefit plans and wellness program processes/procedures; assist in the design and revisions of benefit communications/training materials; and perform executive employee benefits orientations. You will also be responsible for:



  • Responding to employees and field HR benefits inquiries (eligibility, coverage, payments, etc.).

  • SME for the administration and comprehension for all union and non-union benefits programs.

  • Resolving problems regarding company benefits programs: act as liaison between employees and Third Party Administrators.

  • Reviewing SPD's/plan summaries, program grids, communication materials, etc.

  • Providing direction to vendors and Facility HR Reps ensuring continued compliance of eligibility guidelines and plan rules for multiple and complex plans.

  • Monitoring daily eligibility and claims concerns, audit and correct Lawson, CBA and other related systems.

  • Conducting benefits orientations for Keene-based executive employees.

  • Ensuring new executives receive MetLife, enrollment materials, oversee mid-year life events and open enrollment processes.

  • Understanding risk and compliance aspects of Benefits administration, and having strong working knowledge of Benefits and Payroll related Federal and State laws including, but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, FICA and COBRA.

  • Maintaining good working relationship with Field HR and Vendor partners.

  • Additional responsibilities maybe required.


Requirements:

The driven candidate we desire should have:



  • B.A. from an accredited institution preferably in Human Resource Management or a related field. Minimum of 2-4 year working in a Benefits/HR environment.

  • Computer knowledge should include proficiency with Microsoft Office products and HRIS systems. Oracle and Lawson experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of corporate benefits and the relevant laws and regulations that govern them, including medical, dental, vision, prescriptions, mental health, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short and long term disability, worker's compensation, COBRA, ADA, ERISA, FMLA, cafeteria plans, flexible spending accounts, and retiree benefits.

  • Additional specific knowledge may be required for assigned benefit plan(s), including information on enrollment and eligibility.

  • Basic understanding of payroll rules and procedures, and how it relates to benefit enrollments and terminations.

  • Ability in identifying and resolving problems in a timely, effective manner.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex benefit concepts in an understanding and empathetic manner

  • Basic project management skills; time management skills; multi-task and prioritize work loads; demonstrated analytical capabilities; effectively identify and resolve problems in high visibility, high stress situations.
