HIPAA System Analyst Leader
Title: HIPAA System Analyst Leader Location: NY: NEW YORK-MENANDS This candidate will work on HIPAA implementation, issues remediation, and will assist in the development of the Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures. Understanding of the HIPAA Privacy Regulation is key for this position. In addition, the candidate will follow various organizational listserv, such as NCPDP, X12N, DISA, NMEH, Wedi-SNIP and others. Some travel will be required to work with the industry groups and standards development organizations in the development of HIPAA Implementation Guides and technical reports, as well as to attend HIPAA Privacy and Security forums. This candidate will work with Trading Partners to ensure over all HIPAA compliance and keep them informed of how HIPAA requirements affect the Medicaid operations. Detailed duties include: · Assist in the development and maintenance of our HIPAA policies and procedures · Maintain the HIPAA Privacy Training up to date · Interact with all departments involved in the development of HIPAA Transaction and with users involved in MMIS policy issues and program changes. · Interact with Trading Partners on EDI and Transaction issues via telephone, group meetings and emails. · Provide Trading Partner training, transaction testing and implementation assistance. · Create forms needed for HIPAA transaction submission with Medicaid (i.e. Trading Partner Agreement, HIPAA Enrollment Form) · Work with Provider Services, assisting in creation of training materials for the Call Center. · Create and update Companion Guides. · Create frequently asked questions (FAQs). · Work on creating new Fax on Demands for HIPAA Call Center · Review Project Assessments Plans. · Develop design specifications. · Create letters/transmittals to send to NYSDOH. · Keep abreast of National HIPAA activity through various Listserv, attending conferences, and X12N Industry Work Group sessions · Assist in the resolution of complex issues · Nyhipaadesk web site updates - FAQ, Metrics on Issues, Front End Edit Reports, Companion Guides, DOH Announcements. Edit Error Knowledge Database. Sample X12 Transactions, DOH Letters, Provider Notifications, Emails to Trading Partners · Maintaining and monitoring Lotus Notes email traffic of HIPAA related email addresses * Develops the technical solution that meets the requirements of the project. Designs large, significant, and highly complex systems. Assesses existing systems and recommends technical improvements (e.g., performance upgrades). * Recommends, establishes business case, and assists project manager and others in building acceptance of new proposed program modifications, methods, and procedures. * Defines system objectives and design specifications in collaboration with business analyst and/or project manager. * Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation to enhance system efficiency. * Defines controls, conversion procedures and system implementation plans. * Serves as a technical subject matter expert and leads technical collaboration outside of project team, for example, company lines of service, client IT, vendors, subcontractors. Represents company in new technology planning and takes lead in assessing emerging technologies.
