We are seeking a full-time Production Planner to develop the Detailed Production Plan in a dynamic make-to-stock and make-to-order environment. The Production Planner will maintain the Production Plan so it balances custom and standard item orders against material availability and production capacity in order to optimize resource use, costs, and order delivery dates.
Primary responsibilities include:
Assists senior management in the development of Annual Production Plan by Product Groups. Assists management in breaking down the Annual Product Group level Production Plan into daily forecasts for individual end items. Develops and maintains the Detailed Production Plan based on the forecasts, customer orders, and other internal requirements. Updates the Detailed Production Plan for standard items as sales orders are received for modified or custom items. Schedules actual ship dates based on model availability within the Detailed Production Plan, and communicates the dates to customer service. Manages the Production Plan to maximize inventory turns and minimize excess inventory while meeting customer requirements. Insures that the daily model mix and revenue goals are maintained as the Production Plan is updated. Publishes weekly updates to the Production Plan and makes sure all work centers have the latest version as changes are made. Communicate any changes in the Production Plan to all departments. Coordinate with Purchasing to make sure PO coverage in the system is sufficient to cover lead-time of product and Production Plan. Coordinate off site and subcontract manufacturing plans with the in house Detailed Production Plan to make ensure materials are available as needed. Generate and distributing appropriate reports necessary to provide visibility of sales order backlog and available inventory. Use SYSPRO ERP system and various other software applications to analyze historical and current demand trends and provide recommendation for stocking levels and provide additional insight to Buyers for future procurement. Works with all departments to constantly improve data accuracy in SYSPRO ERP software for materials requirements, sales order data, bills of materials, and production plans.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred. Hands on experience with ERP Software. Knowledge of SYSPRO ERP is a plus. Strong analytical ability and critical thinking skills. Minimum 5 years experience in production planning and scheduling of machines, assembly, and purchased items, in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills with all levels of executive, management, and plant operations personnel. Familiarity with the APICS body of knowledge. CPIM certification a plus. Knowledge of MS Office programs.
